Thankfully, and despite what you might hear to the contrary, you don’t need a big wallet to start your own cosmetics business.

Starting a cosmetics business is not expensive to set up compared with many other ventures which offer much lower profit margins. A cosmetics business offers much better returns for much less cost than any franchise or other kind of manufacturing business.

What are the main trends in the cosmetics market in China?

To answer this question, Labbrand decided to conduct an extensive video qualitative research project in Shanghai, by interviewing cosmetics users directly, and on the spot, where they buy their products. In order to have a wide and comprehensive overview of the cosmetics market, Labbrand chose seven themes to explore during the interviews: beauty attributes, cosmetic brands, skin troubles, face and body daily care, beauty expenses, cosmetic product attributes, and store and spa concepts.

The most usual source of pearlescence is the natural mineral mica covered by a thin layer of titanium dioxide. This coating causes goniochromism – the colour appears through interference effects with the naturally translucent mica, and varying the thickness of the titanium dioxide changes the colour.
